Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and is the largest city with a population of 542,664 people. Vilnius University has about 19,700 students  and 4,100 staff members. The University was founded in 1579 and is a preserver of cultural and scientific traditions. The University has gone 4 centuries and was even closed down at one point. But it was brought back and is stronger than ever. Students enjoy a lot of different cultural activities to do around Vilnius. There are many sports to participate in like basketball, football, swimming, badminton, and a whole lot of other sports.

Housing is offered to students who are studying abroad. Most international students stay in the dormitories, and if you wish to stay in an international dormitory you can request that. Students can either live in a double or triple room. The cost for living in a double room is about $115 a month and the cost for a triple is about $75 a month.  You can also choose to live off campus in a private apartment, or you can choose to live with a host family. Students who are studying the Lithuania language normally request to live with host families. Wifi is not included in the student stay and its approximately an extra $6.35.
Students normally cook for themselves or eat at nearby cafes. However, there are cafeterias and canteens on campus for students to eat at and the cost is anywhere from $3.75-$7.50 per meal. Students found that they normally spend about $225 per month for food.

Grading Scale

The grading scale at University of Lithuania is based on a number system. 1 (very poor) to 10 (excellent). A student much achieve a 5 or better in order to pass the class. Likewise a 4 or below is considered failing the class. There is no end of the semester exams at University of Lithuania, once the student shows by grades that they know 50% of the criteria they are considered to be passing.
