Study Abroad in the American University Dubai (AUD)
is designed to provide students with a snapshot of the Middle East through the study of language, history and culture – wish specific attention accorded to Dubai, a modern city-state whose economic progress and broad-sale success has captured the imagination of the world.

at AUD is English.
AUD offers a modern on-campus accommodation located only five minute walk to academic buildings, library, computer labs, and cafeteria and sports facilities. All rooms are double occupancy, but there may be single occupancy rooms available during the Summer Semester at an additional cost. Please visit the AUD Student Housing website

For each semester of academic work completed abroad, you may earn up to 12 credit hours. Course credit transfers to S&T, but your grades will not appear on your S&T transcript and are not calculated into your grade point average. Courses abroad are recorded as a Pass or Fail and will shows an “ex” on your S&T transcript. Courses you pass will earn your credit hours toward your degree, but will not affect your GPA.
Although you will receive credits for successfully completed courses, you must work with your academic advisers to get approval for how the courses you take might fulfill specific degree requirements at S&T.

Outside the city itself, the emirate is sparsely inhabited and characterized by desert. Dubai popular with tourists and business people alike. As a thriving business hub, it has industry-specific free zones that continue to attract business people from all over the world. AUD is strategically situated next to Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City, business communities that are home to such prestigious firms as Sony, Reuters, CNN, McGraw Hill Publishing, Microsoft, Oracle and IBM.
